EUSO Advert
Promotional Video for the Edinburgh University String Orchestra (EUSO). This short advertisement was produced with the aim of letting existing members of EUSO, and students that were interested in joining, know that the organisation were planning on restarting face-to-face rehearsals, after the first national lockdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The twist at the end of the video and the tagline convey to the target audience that the orchestra agree that playing music in a real-life group is much more effective than trying to virtually rehearse, the humour in the twist driving that point home. The video was produced in an effiecient way; although it used one big spotlight as the main source of light in the fantasy sequence, the rest was filmed making use of everyday objects to achieve the desired effects. For example, the dolly in and out of the performer was done by mounting the camera on an office chair, using the wheels to move forwards and backwards. The main performer in the video, Andrew Taheny, is the first chair violin in the orchestra, and is also the president of the society.
